Summary.Slimane Sadji claimed on behalf of his daughter Tassadit compensation from the French State for injuries sustained in 1956 as a result of military action by the French Army in Algeria. In 1955 responsibility for compensating for injuries consequent on the strife in Algeria had been imposed on the then French Department of Algeria.

Held: that since it appeared that the responsibility for compensating for such injuries had been transferred to the Algerian State under the Evian Agreements, judgment should be deferred to enable the Minister for Foreign Affairs to submit his observations.
