Vendredi 13 juillet 2007, la Cour suprême du Canada a rejeté une demande d'action en justice contre le groupe informatique américain Dell Computer pour son refus d'honorer les prix affichés par erreur sur son site Internet. En avril 2003, les pages de commande de son site Internet indiquaient le prix de 89 dollars au lieu de 379 et le prix de 118 dollars au lieu de 549 pour deux modèles d'ordinateur de poche. Informée de l'erreur, Dell a bloqué l'accès aux pages de commande erronées, mais plus de 500 commandes avaient été passées au prix inférieur indiqué. Dell a annoncé son refus de donner suite à ces commandes. Un acheteur et une association de consommateurs ont déposé une requête en autorisation d'exercer un recours collectif contre Dell.
