La loi autorisant la ratification de l'accord de transport aérien entre l'Union européenne et les Etats-Unis est parue au JO du 8 avril 2008. Cet accord qui est entré en vigueur le 30 mars 2008 permettra aux compagnies aériennes européennes de desservir sans restriction, au départ de tout aéroport de l'UE, n'importe quelle ville américaine. L'accord affirme ainsi le principe de concurrence loyale et équitable et lève les restrictions sur les liaisons internationales entre l'Union européenne et les Etats-Unis, en mettant fin au système des quotas.
