Deux initiatives parlementaires visant la publicité des délibérations des commissions ont été déposées, afin d'améliorer la transparence au sein des institutions parlementaires suisses. Ces deux initiatives ont été rejetées par la Commission des institutions politiques. Elle estime que les dispositions en matière de confidentialité ne doivent pas être supprimées, mais au contraire renforcées en modifiant la procédure disciplinaire à l'égard des parlementaires. En effet, la confidentialité des séances de commission revêt une importance majeure pour la qualité du travail parlementaire.
